New rules for importing animals from Ukraine have come into force in the EU
The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska announced in her Telegram channel about the change in the rules for importing animals into the EU for Ukrainians. In particular, the simplified regime introduced after the start of the war has been abolished.
According to the new rules that apply to dogs, cats, ferrets (companion animals), the animal must be:
✅ chipped
✅ have a valid rabies vaccination
✅ the result of checking for the level of antibodies against rabies by titration
✅ a valid EU veterinary passport or veterinary certificate issued by an official veterinarian
If you do not have any of the documents - you need to notify the competent person, fill out the application and go through a simplified border crossing procedure. In Poland, for example, your pet will be labeled and vaccinated against rabies for free.
