Ukraine and the EU have signed an agreement on the liberalization of road transport, the so-called transport visa-free travel. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.

The agreement removes bureaucratic obstacles to the transportation of goods between Ukraine and the EU. From now on, Ukrainian carriers will not need to obtain special permits for entry, transit, and transportation of goods to EU member states. In addition, the frequency of border crossings by carriers is now not limited - previously the EU issued only a certain number of entry permits. The agreement will be valid for one year and does not provide for any additional conditions for trucks to stay in the EU. Carriers will be able to cross the border as many times as needed and for any period.

For ordinary citizens, transport visa-free travel makes it easier to recognize driver's licenses: now Ukrainians do not need to have an international license to travel to the EU - Ukrainian driver's licenses will also be recognized.

According to the Prime Minister, transport visa-free travel, together with the abolition of customs duties and tariffs on Ukrainian goods in the EU, provides unprecedented opportunities for our business and exports to European markets. This is the third "visa-free" between Ukraine and the EU in the last year after the aviation and energy agreements.
