Germany continues to accept Ukrainians under the temporary protection program, providing them with housing in the federal state where they register for the first time. This is reported by uahelp.wiki

We will tell you in which camps there are vacancies and what are the conditions for accepting Ukrainian refugees in Germany in January.

What are the conditions for refugees from Ukraine arriving in Germany?

Germany provides accommodation and food for refugees from Ukraine. Accommodation can include an apartment, a hotel, a hostel, a former nursing home, a barracks or an adapted empty hypermarket, sometimes with outdoor facilities.

It is also possible to place refugees next to representatives of other countries.

"The housing situation in Germany is very difficult. If you have nowhere to live, you will never be left on the street, but you should expect to live in hangars, dormitories, containers or gyms for many months, not necessarily near a large city," warn the volunteers of the uahelp.wiki project.

Most refugees first go to primary reception centers or camps, from where they are distributed to federal states. However, if quotas are exceeded, refugees can be redirected to other territories.

"Once you have registered, you have only one chance, and you should reside in the federal state where you registered or where you were sent," uahelp.wiki explains.

Moving to another federal state requires a special permit, which can only be obtained for justified reasons, such as work, study, family ties, or minor children.

German states that continue to accept Ukrainians in January: a list

In January in Germany, initial reception camps for Ukrainian refugees operate in various federal states:

Berlin:

• Tegel (former airport): The largest initial reception center, from where refugees are resettled throughout the country. The area is closed, accessible only by special bus. If you are driving your own car, you should leave it in the external parking lot. All the necessary information, including the contact number of the center, is available here.

Baden-Württemberg:

• Karlsruhe (Durlacher Allee 100, 76137 Karlsruhe): Accepts pedestrians only, no cars; no pets larger than a cat are allowed.

• Meßstetten (Geißbühlstraße 51, 72469 Meßstetten): Accessible by car; does not accept large dogs or dogs of fighting breeds.

North Rhine-Westphalia:

Saarland:

• Lebach (Schlesierallee 17, 66822 Lebach).
