On this tour you will visit the unique Poltava - a city with a classic Ukrainian atmosphere, delicious dumplings and inspiring creative people.

Day 1

Arrival to Poltava. Meet & welcome. Transfer to hotel. Check in.

Poltava – city with iconic Ukrainian atmosphere. It boasts of “galushki” or dumplings and creative people.  

City walking tour (3hrs) – Depending on the arrival time can be done on 1st day afternoon or next day morning. 

You will explore the beauty of Poltava. Let’s visit Ivaniv hill with gorgeous cathedral and rural looking house-museum of famous writer (he is famous for translation of Virgil “Aeneid”, with some Ukrainian touch in it).

Leisure time.Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel. FULL DAY TOUR (by car)

Poltava became known in the beginning of 18th century, when Sweden king Karl XII and Russian king Petr met for major battle.

Than we head to a town known as capital of pottery production. Here used to be whole dynasties of potters. Here you will know more about this craft in Ukraine territory.

There you will be taken for lunch to taste authentic receipts from ladies with magic hands. All her food is done in traditional oven. 


Day 3

Breakfast. Day at Leisure. 

Optional excursions can be offered 


Day 4

Breakfast. Check out of hotel. Transfer to the train station. Return back home.

Holy Dormition Cathedral of the 18th century

The Holy Dormition Cathedral in Poltava was built in 1748-1770. The cathedral once housed rare Gospels of 1628 and 1644. Catherine II visited the cathedral in 1787. The grandfather of the famous Poltava writer Ivan Kotlyarevsky also served as a deacon in this cathedral.

Monument to dumplings

On Ivanova Gora there is the Monument to dumplings, an indisputable symbol of the city. A wooden board is covered with an embroidered towel, and a plate with 12 appetizing dumplings and a huge spoon is on it. It symbolizes family wealth and comfort and depicts the traditional dish of the Poltava region.

Round square

The square resembles the sun, the Corpus Garden with a monument of Glory in honor of the 100th anniversary of the victory over the Swedes near Poltava is in the middle of this square. According to legend, Peter I met with the defenders of the city there. 8 streets diverge in different directions from its central part, which has a diameter of almost 400 meters.

Alley of Gogol's heroes

The Alley of Gogol's Heroes, the famous Ukrainian writer and playwright Nikolai Gogol, is not far from the city center. you can find Taras Bulba, Solokha, Vakula, Nose, compositions from the "Sorochinskaya Fair" among the popular sculptures along the alley.
