About this tour

Boykivshchyna is an ethnocultural region on the northern and southern slopes of the Carpathians. It stretches from the Limnytsia and Teresva rivers in the east to the Uzh and Sian rivers in the west. It covers the mountainous regions of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions.

According to the most common version, the ethnonym boyka comes from the Celtic tribe boyi, which lived on the territory of the Czech Republic and Austria in late antiquity. Also, the Boiks are considered descendants of the ancient tribe of White Croats, who took a direct part in the ethnogenesis of the Ukrainian people of the early Middle Ages and Kievan Rus.

There you will taste national Carpathian and Boykiv dishes and you will get to know Boykiv folklore.

You will have warm and unforgettable memories of the age-old traditions and culture of the Boykiv region.

1

Boryslav

The Bukovytsia ski complex is on the outskirts of Boryslav. The highest point of the ski complex is the slope of Mount Bukovitsa, with a height of 564 meters above sea level. There are 3 ski tracks of varying difficulty, 1 snow tubing track, a chairlift and bugle lifts. This complex is an excellent choice for recreation.

2

Opaka

Recreation centre "Opaka" is located near the Opaka river of the same name. There are two springs with mineral water "Naftusya" and "Zaliziste" on the territory of the base. For lovers of active recreation, there is a tubing track, which has a special all-season surface and works all year round. There is also a large lake with trout and sturgeon on the territory of the base, in which fishing is allowed.

3

Truskavets

Truskavets is a city-park, a unique and oldest balneological resort in Europe, located in a picturesque pre-Carpathian valley. The town is world-famous for its healing mineral water "Naftusia", which can be tasted in the central mineral water pump.

4

Museum of M. Bilas

We invite you to visit the museum of Ukrainian artist Mykhailo Bilas. The museum is located in the central part of Truskavets. Many textile works are exhibited in 12 halls of the museum: tapestries and panels, carpets and applications, sackcloths and pillows. All the work from the beginning to the end was carried out by the master: he created sketches and developed colour solutions. All products presented in the museum exist in a single copy. It is also worth paying attention to the wooden house of the beginning of the 20th century, in which this museum is located. This building is an architectural monument in the spirit of modernism with elements of the "Zakopane" style, called Villa Gopliana.

5

SPA-complex "Moldova"

We invite you to relax and rejuvenate in one of the best SPA centres in the country. You will have access to a large swimming pool, a jacuzzi and 5 saunas (hammam, Russian bath, Finnish sauna, aroma sauna and infrared sauna). There is a children's pool with a slide and accessories for entertainment.

6

Drohobych

This city is one of the most beautiful cities in Western Ukraine, where you can taste natural alcoholic drinks made from honey. The company "Ukrainian Medovary" operates here - it is the only certified company in Ukraine that produces honey drinks. Created in 2017 thanks to the efforts of a Drohobych beekeeper, for whom honey drinks are a hobby and a great inspiration, and Volyn beekeepers, who have 10 years of experience in the production of honey drinks of various types and have numerous awards and medals both at all-Ukrainian and international competitions. Even in ancient times, honey drinks were a separate elite group of intoxicating drinks, the consumption of which did not harm. Ukraine, as one of the largest producers of honey in the world, has always been famous for its excellent honey hop drinks. At the tasting, you will be able to taste "Medivka" (a purely fermented product, which rightfully belongs to the oldest intoxicating drinks in the world), and "Medak" (a balm based on honey, fruits and herbal tinctures).
