Millions of Ukrainians are now temporarily settling in Europe, fleeing the horrors of war. They have been experiencing constant anxiety and stress for over a month. Psychologists say that in such circumstances it is very important to let in some pleasant emotions, something new and interesting, be sure to find time for leisure - it will help overcome the crisis of psycho-emotional state. With this in mind, VisitUkraine has compiled a collection of free entertainment in Prague - the charming and ancient capital of the Czech Republic.

Excursions

Freetour.com. This travel agency organizes excursions in the direction of: Prague Castle with attractions around, the Jewish Quarter and the Old Town, modern Prague, etc. Tours are designed for 2.5 hours, are held twice a day: at 11:00 or 14:00.

Civitatis. A 3-hour sightseeing classic in Prague with all the tourist attractions. Start at 10:30 or 14:00 at Na Příkopě 14.

New Europe Tours. Analogous to the previous one, but starts four times a day: at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 14:00. Meeting at Old Town Square.

Good Tours. Another analogue of the 3-hour review classic is held daily at 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m., starting at Na Příkopě 14.

Museums

Museum of Contemporary Art (Dukelských Hrdinů, 530/47). Admission is usually paid here, however, there are days when you can come for free - check the schedule here (https://www.ngprague.cz/en). Here are the works of contemporary artists from the Czech Republic and Europe in general.

National Technical Museum (Kostelní 42). The exposition tells the story of the development of technology in all areas of popular use: from watches and cameras to airplanes and cars. You can check in on the first Friday of the month from 12:00 free of charge.

National Museum of the Czech Republic (Václavské náměstí 68 - main building). Here you will learn about the history of the Czech Republic, there is also a section on natural sciences. Free admission on the first Mondays of each month.

Moser Museum (Staroměstské náměstí 603/15). The famous Czech crystal and glass. No more need to be said.

Kbeli Aviation Museum (Mladoboleslavská). The exposition in the hangar of the former military airfield in Prague is dedicated to the military and civil aviation of the Czech Republic. Open from May to October, daily.

Zizkov Army Museum (U Památníku 2). Military history of the Czech Republic during the First and Second World Wars.

Parks

Prague's love of greenery is very reminiscent of Ukrainian cities - there are really enough parks here. We highly recommend taking a walk next.

Stromovka. In the heart of the city there is a huge park -  of about 100 hectares! It has everything to please the eye and relax in the bosom of nature: ponds, walking paths, bike paths, playgrounds, flower beds and a maze garden. There is even a zoo!

Letna gardens. Another park in the center of Prague, which offers an amazing view of the Vltava.

Vojanovy Gardens. It has the title of the oldest in the city - small and very cozy.

Camp Park. It is located on the banks of the Vltava and here is just a great playground - a large one, which, of course, will appeal to families with children.

Vrtbovsky Garden (Vrtbovská zahrada, Karmelitská 25). There used to be vineyards in this place. And now - there is a beautiful park in the Italian style with spacious terraces, very beautiful landscaping and decent views.

Observation decks

Gavlichkovy gardens. One of the best observation decks in the city was built on their highest hill. There is a cafe with local wine. By the way, the park itself is designed in the style of the Italian Renaissance.

Petrshin Hill (left bank of the Vltava). In fact, an observation deck was organized here on the tower, but the entrance to it is paid. But from any point of it there is a great view, we especially recommend coming here for a picnic.

Visegrad. On the highest hill above the Vltava there is a historic district of the same name and the fortress. There are lots of interesting things here, and also the best landscapes of Prague!

Gardens of Prague Castle. Picturesque gardens - green terraces with fountains and flowers - converge on the hillside near Prague Castle. The views from here are just incredible!

Other interesting places in Prague

Old Town Square. Town Hall, astronomical clock… This is probably the most visited place in Prague. It can be viewed for hours, because in addition to canonical monuments, there is a mix of architectural styles: Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance, Rococo, etc.

Charles Bridge. Another tourist must that connects Mala Strana with the Old Town Square. From here there is a wonderful view of Prague Castle and the panorama of the river. And the bridge itself is a real work of art, because it demonstrates three dozen interesting sculptures of the 17th century.

Mala Strana. As you walk across Charles Bridge to Prague Castle, be sure to take a stroll through Mala Strana, one of the city's most exciting areas. It is here that the oldest street in Prague is Nerudova, as well as the Ptršyn Tower, the Church of St. Nicholas, Malostranska Square, Waldstein Garden. Everything is worth noting and deserves the most careful study.

Prague Castle. Dating back to the 9th century, the old fortress stands guard over the city. It's crowded here, but there is something to look at.
