After a long occupation, the right bank of the Kherson region returned to the control of Ukraine. Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done to restore the region and completely free it from the invaders, but we decided to show you what wonderful places our native Kherson Oblast hides and where you must visit after our victory.

The Kherson region is located in the south of Ukraine, where a temperate continental climate prevails. In simple words, here you can find both hot summer and cozy winter. The region is also made unique by the fact that it is washed by two seas at once - the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.

One of the most interesting places in the region is located in the Oleshkivsky district and is called Oleshkivski sands. This unique place for the natural zone of Ukraine is the largest sand massif in Europe. Sands are often mistakenly called a desert, but according to the temperature regime and the amount of precipitation, this zone can rather be classified as a semi-desert.

The inhabitants of this area planted a forest around the sands with their own hands, which restrained this semi-desert. Unfortunately, this forest suffered greatly from the actions of the Russian invaders. But there is no doubt that after complete liberation, all the beauty of this area will be restored.

You can also admire the beauty of the Kherson region in the area of the Stanislavsky Canyon, which is located between the villages of Stanislav and Oleksandrivka. This is one of the most picturesque and unique places in the region.

During the full-scale invasion, the Kherson Grand Canyon suffered greatly - the invaders almost completely destroyed the mountains.

Another attraction of the Kherson region is wine. The region is home to the Chateau of Prince Trubetsky, a country recreation complex that houses a historic winery building with tasting rooms and wine cellars.

Here you can have a romantic vacation surrounded by vineyards, with an incredible view of the Dnipro. The chateau is worth visiting both for wine lovers and for those who are just beginning their acquaintance with its features.

During the occupation, the property of the wine region was damaged.

The unique places in the Kherson region did not end there. We could not forget about the pink lake Sivash. The water in this lake is actually pink. Scientists have confirmed that the large amount of minerals in the water of Sivash make it therapeutic. It improves joint function and strengthens the body as a whole. The chemical composition of the lake is similar to the famous Dead Sea.

The reasons for the phenomenon of pink color have not yet been fully elucidated. Different sources call different options. Some claim that iodine dissolved in water gives this color. In others, the reason is the microalgae Dunaliella brackish water, which is present here in large quantities.

Sivash is located on the administrative border between Kherson Oblast and Crimea. And it is not yet known to what extent this unique place was affected by the actions of the Russian military.

Maldives beauty lovers are also in luck. There is an island in the region, which is very similar to the famous resort in its beauty. Dzharylgach Island is located in the Karkinit Bay of the Black Sea and is often called the "Ukrainian Maldives".

Dzharylgach is the largest by area and the second-longest island in Ukraine and the Black Sea. It is worth coming here for the opportunity to sunbathe on the endless pearly beaches, swim in clear water shimmering with all shades of blue, see rare animals and birds.

This place was also affected by hostilities - the island was mined by Lazurny, and the occupiers placed their military base near the lighthouse.

The Kherson region is also famous for the Askania-Nova nature reserve in the Kakhovsky district. Among the protected objects of Ukraine, the Biosphere Reserve "Askania-Nova" occupies a special place, because the history of the commandments on its territory goes back more than 100 years.

The total area of the reserve is 33,307.6 hectares. Almost 500 species of plants grow on the steppe territories, of which 26 are rare and included in various protection lists, more than a thousand different species of arthropods, 18 species of mammals, 7 species of amphibians and reptiles live.

In addition, at different times of the year, 270 species of birds fly through the reserve, of which more than a hundred remain for nesting.

The Kherson region will gradually recover from the occupation, and our soldiers will continue to return our regions rich in natural beauty, which you can learn more about on our YouTube channel.
