The Czech Republic introduces enhanced control over the provision of financial assistance to Ukrainian refugees
Inhaltsübersicht
The Czech Republic is introducing increased control over the provision of financial assistance to Ukrainian refugees. This was stated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Czech Republic is currently providing 200 euros to all Ukrainians seeking asylum. However, from May 16, those who will apply for temporary protection status will have to present a stamp in their passport confirming the crossing of the Ukrainian-Czech border in order to receive assistance.
Increased passport control is explained by the influx of Roma who have dual citizenship (Hungarian and Ukrainian) and come from Hungary to the Czech Republic with Ukrainian passports to receive cash benefits.
