Switzerland continues to receive Ukrainians fleeing the war, many of them in need of housing. In this regard, the Swiss Army provided the State Secretariat for Migration with additional housing for refugees and military personnel for care and protection.
By the end of this year, the State Secretariat for Migration of Switzerland expects that about 75,000 refugees from Ukraine may apply for help in Switzerland, in particular, 24,000 of them will need housing.
The Migration Secretariat together with the Swiss Army have already increased the number of refugee accommodation from five to more than nine thousand beds from the spring of 2022. But currently they are planning to arrange places for another three thousand people in need. Refugees will also be provided with basic needs: food, hygiene products, and, if necessary, clothing.

Starting in early 2023, refugees from Ukraine are planned to be accommodated at military bases in Freiburg, Bure and Dubendorf. From February next year, it is planned that the Thun and St. Luzishteig bases will be available if needed.
