Learn more about new cash withdrawal rules, limits and ATM national roaming
In Ukraine, the so-called "ATM national roaming" was introduced, which provides for the establishment of uniform extended limits and the cancellation of additional commissions for cash withdrawals by cardholders of other banks at ATMs. This is stated in the press service of the NBU.
This will expand the possibilities of prompt and convenient access of citizens to their own funds. The largest banks have already joined this initiative.
"Today, we have already received information from ten banks-owners of ATM networks that the tariffs for cards of other banks for withdrawing funds have been canceled. That is, you use this ATM as an ATM of your bank", - Deputy Head of the NBU Oleksiy Shaban said on the air of "Ukrainian radio".
According to him, the idea of "ATM national roaming" is that all banks set the same cash withdrawal limits for cardholders of other banks as for their customers. The limit can be 10-20 thousand.
"We believe that this amount is sufficient not only to meet current needs, but also to form a certain cash reserve", - he added.
At the same time, taking into account the increased level of danger regarding the functioning of the banking system due to the limitation of electricity supply as a result of russian attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, separate requirements for banks have been increased, which, in particular, concern:
• determination in each region of a clear list of on-call branches (at least 35% of branches) that will ensure the provision of services to the bank's clients in the event of a long-term lack of power supply, and the need to ensure their continuous operation;
• informing clients about the mode of operation of banks and their separate divisions, indicating the list of on-call branches, their addresses, contact phone numbers and the schedule of the on-call branches;
• increasing the security measures of banking operations, including cash operations.
