In Germany, Ukrainian male refugees may be deprived of benefits: who is affected
This initiative arose as a result of appeals to the Bundestag to revise the policy on payments to Ukrainian refugees, the Berliner Zeitung reports.
Florian Hahn, a member of the German parliament from the opposition Christian Democratic Union party, expressed outrage at the financial assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees. He believes that this may encourage them to avoid defending their country from russian aggression.

"The signaling effect for Ukrainians will be bad when we talk about belligerence, on the one hand, but on the other hand, it indirectly harms the will to defend," Hahn emphasized.
However, some MPs, such as Alexander Müller of the Free Democratic Party, oppose the measure. They argue that all Ukrainian refugees should have the same rights to accommodation and social support.
The Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs notes that financial assistance is provided to those refugees who have the right to reside and cannot provide sufficient income. However, these payments are coordinated with employment centers in order to integrate Ukrainian refugees into the workforce.
