Military registration, updating credentials and traveling abroad: changes and rules for women
The new law on mobilization, among other things, provides for some changes for Ukrainian women. Find out more about who the new rules apply to, whether there are any restrictions on crossing the border, and what else you need to know about the innovations
The new law on mobilization came into force on May 18, 2024. Mostly, the new provisions apply to men, but some categories of women are also subject to changes. We will describe the updated rules in detail below.
Traveling abroad for women after May 18, 2024: are there any changes?
The changes in the border crossing rules apply exclusively to men. Therefore, there are no restrictions for women in connection with the entry into force of the new law on mobilization. Ukrainian women can freely cross the state border, both for exit and entry.
Military registration for women in 2024
The procedure for military registration for women was changed in October 2023. Since then, it has become mandatory for Ukrainian women in certain professions. The new law did not make any changes, so as before, women with medical and pharmaceutical education must register for military service, regardless of their place of residence and whether they work in their profession or not.
At the same time, women can be called up for service only on a voluntary basis, provided they are fit for service by age and health.
However, it should be borne in mind that these categories of women are liable for military service, which means that they must update their military registration data within 60 days of the new law on mobilization coming into force.

Updating military registration data for women
The procedure for updating the registration data is similar to the one established for men. That is, Ukrainian women who are fit for military service for health and age reasons, as well as those who have a medical or pharmaceutical specialty, are required to submit updated information.
What data needs to be updated?
– address of the actual place of residence;
– contact phone numbers;
– e-mail addresses (if any);
– other personal data.
Where can I do it?
There are three ways to update your data:
1. Through the Reserve+ mobile application
2. Personal visit to the TCS
3. Personal visit to the ASC
Please note! Visits to state institutions are made by appointment in the electronic queue. Information on making an appointment to the ASC can be obtained directly on the website of the required department. Electronic registration at the TCS is currently in test mode. You can register for the electronic queue in several cities of Ukraine, namely Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Sumy, Vinnytsia, and Kropyvnytskyi.
