Italy is in the midst of the tourist season, and the country is staying away from the anti-tourism protests that have swept other European countries. Italians are happy to receive guests and have even introduced additional trains for the convenience of travelers, Euronews Travel writes.

Read on to find out what trains have been launched in the country and where you can get there for little money.

New trains in Italy: where to travel on a budget

Milan welcomes hundreds of tourists every day who want to travel around the country. To facilitate their travel to the sea, the state-owned operator Trenitalia launched new trains on June 21. Tickets for these trains are available at attractive prices.

The new routes cover the following destinations:

Milan - Lecce, the center of Puglia, known for its clean beaches. Tickets cost from 29.90 euros (about 1300 hryvnias).

• Milan - Reggio di Calabria, Calabria region, the fare starts from 39.90 euros (over 1700 hryvnias).

It should be noted that the new trains, due to their accessibility, do not have compartments, and passengers travel sitting down. There are also no restaurant cars, so it will not be possible to organize a romantic dinner in the style of the films The Tourist or Before Sunrise. However, you can buy sandwiches and coffee on the trains.

Those planning to use the new routes are advised to book tickets in advance, as demand for them is very high.

It should be noted that when travelling abroad, you should take care of your safety. Travel insurance will always help you with this, providing the necessary range of services in case of unforeseen health-related situations. Insurance will greatly facilitate your stay abroad and give you confidence in your trip. You can order it by following this
