Learn more about education for Ukrainians in Poland
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES) and the Ministry of National Education of Poland are actively working to create conditions that allow Ukrainian schoolchildren to keep in touch with their native culture and language.
This was reported by the Ministry of Education and Science, noting that an important Polish-Ukrainian meeting was held in Warsaw, during which directions and steps were outlined to improve the learning environment for Ukrainian children in Poland.
The main areas of cooperation
Ukrainian educational organizations
The Ministry of Education and Science is working with partners to establish Saturday and Sunday schools in Poland. These schools will become a platform for studying Ukrainian studies, such as the Ukrainian language, history and culture. This step is important to ensure cultural continuity and support the national spirit among Ukrainian children.
The implementation of such initiatives is possible thanks to the involvement of international donors and the support of the Polish government.
Learning Ukrainian in Polish schools
Ukrainian may be introduced as a second foreign language in Polish schools at the request of parents and provided that there is an adequate number of qualified teachers. Such a solution would facilitate the integration of Ukrainian children into the Polish educational system while preserving their national values.
Intercultural assistants and teacher training
With $125 million in EU grant support, Poland plans to finance the activities of intercultural assistants and organize trainings for teachers. This will allow for better communication between students and teachers, adaptation of teaching materials, and creation of comfortable conditions for Ukrainian children.
Ukrainian language exams
Starting in 2026, Polish graduates will be able to take the Ukrainian language exam as one of their subjects.

The Ukrainian side expressed its deep gratitude to Poland for its efforts in creating favorable conditions for Ukrainian children's education.
“We are grateful to Poland for its support and willingness to continue the dialogue! ” the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized.
It is emphasized that cooperation between Ukraine and Poland is an example of mutual understanding and shared concern for the future generation, which must preserve its cultural identity and at the same time integrate into European society.
