Historisches Kiew
Sie sehen das Goldene Tor – das Haupttor der Fürstenstadt aus dem 11. Jahrhundert, die majestätische Sophienkathedrale von Kiew, die zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe gehört, und die St.-Michaels-Kathedrale mit ihrer goldenen Kuppel, die nach der Zerstörung in den 1930er Jahren restauriert wurde.

Kiew während des Krieges
Seit Beginn der groß angelegten russischen Invasion war Kiew eines der Hauptziele des Feindes, der die Stadt innerhalb von drei Tagen einnehmen wollte. Dank des Mutes des Militärs und der Einwohner der Hauptstadt blieb Kiew jedoch standhaft und wurde zu einem Symbol der Unbesiegbarkeit des ukrainischen Volkes.
Heute kann man bei einem Rundgang Spuren der Militäroperationen sehen: beschädigte Gebäude, zerstörte Infrastruktur, Einkaufszentren, Schulen und Theater. Die Stadt hat den Beschuss des Fernsehturms, des Kiewer Maly-Opernhauses sowie Raketenangriffe auf strategische Objekte überstanden.
Bewahrung des kulturellen Erbes
Trotz der Gefahr ist Kiew seiner Vergangenheit verpflichtet. Schutzbauten wurden um die wertvollsten Denkmäler errichtet: Denkmäler für den Heiligen Wolodymyr, Bohdan Chmelnyzkyj, Petro Sahaidachnyj, Taras Schewtschenko und Mychajlo Hruschewskij sowie Skulpturen auf dem Mychajlowska-Platz und dem Samson-Brunnen.
Die Buntglasfenster der Standseilbahn sind mit Schildern bedeckt, und am Stadtrand wurden Kontrollpunkte, Betonbefestigungen und Panzerabwehr-Igel errichtet – eine Erinnerung an die Unbesiegbarkeit der Hauptstadt.

The capital of our country was the main target of the Russian invaders from the beginning of hostilities, which they planned to capture in 3 days. But thanks to the professionalism of our military and the courage of the local territorial defense, Kyiv survived, once again proving the indomitability of the Cossack spirit and the indomitability of the Ukrainian people. The aggressor to the whole world justifies his actions in relation to our country. And the main task of a courageous people is to convince everyone that the truth is on our side, attracting as many people as possible to witness these terrible crimes. You can list for a long time the areas in which residential buildings, commercial real estate and infrastructure objects, schools, kindergartens were crushed by rockets - these consequences are visible everywhere. The shelling of a shopping center in the Podilsky District, the damage to the TV tower near the Dorogozhichi metro station, the mutilated facade of the Kyiv Small Opera Theater on Degtyarivska Street are just the tip of the iceberg. In addition, as a result of the bombing of the city, the occupiers hit the radioactive waste storage facility of the Kyiv branch of "Radon Association". In Kyiv, the city authorities and volunteers urgently resorted to the protection of sculptures and monuments, architectural structures that have a huge historical and cultural significance for the planet. In particular, protective structures were erected around the monuments to St. Volodymyr on the slopes of the Dnipro, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, Peter Sagaidachny, Taras Shevchenko, and Mykhailo Hrushevskyi (near the University). Sandbags protected the Samson fountain, the sculptural composition on Mykhailivska Square (Princess Olga, Andrew the First-Called, and enlighteners Kirill and Methodius), the Dante Alighieri monument, and the Magdeburg Law monument and column. And you won't see the stained-glass windows of the Funicular, famous for their beauty - they are covered with shields. Also, the construction of roadblocks and defensive fortifications, especially on the outskirts of the city: concrete blocks, sandbags and anti-tank hedgehogs became a common feature of the capital's landscape.
