The Verkhovna Rada previously allowed servicemen to go on leave during martial law. People's deputy from "European Solidarity" Oleksiy Goncharenko informed about this.

"Corresponding changes were voted in the first reading of draft law 8081 on amending clause 18 of article 10-1 of the Law of Ukraine "On social and legal protection of military personnel and members of their families", - the deputy wrote.

The document envisages the possibility of granting military personnel a vacation with preservation of financial support for a period of no more than 10 calendar days, excluding the time required for travel within Ukraine to the place of the vacation and back, but no more than two days in one direction.

As you know, until now, servicemen could take leave only for family reasons and for other valid reasons.

We will remind you! Previously, we wrote that military personnel who voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and during their leave do not have the opportunity to meet with their families who are abroad, will be able to obtain the right to leave.

The relevant draft law stipulates that during martial law, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other categories who directly participated in measures to ensure the defense of Ukraine for at least 90 days have the right to use leave to travel abroad to visit relatives.

In addition, the draft law proposes to count military service time against years of service and work experience for granting pensions on preferential terms - at the rate of one month of service for three months of work. More details at the link.
