The Slovak Republic has extended the term of temporary protection for Ukrainians who found refuge in the country as a result of the full-scale war. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia.
For how long did Slovakia extend temporary protection for Ukrainians?
"Temporary Asylum" (dočásne útočisko) certificates valid until March 4, 2023, will automatically remain valid until March 4, 2024.
However, if Ukrainians wish, they can update their ID through the electronic service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Slovak Republic, using the link: portal.minv.sk.
What are the benefits of temporary protection for Ukrainians in Slovakia?
The relevant status allows Ukrainians to work legally on the territory of the Slovak Republic, obtain secondary and higher education, attend schools, have access to medical care and housing.
In addition, temporary protection gives the right to receive financial and social assistance in the country.
