Slovenia launches a single travel card for all modes of transport: how much does a ticket cost
From the beginning of June, Slovenia will introduce a single travel card that will allow you to use all types of transport in the country, except for public transport. Find out more about the ticket price and how to buy it
Starting June 1, the Slovenian government will introduce a single travel card for all modes of transportation. At the same time, it will not apply to public transport, which will be included in the travel card system by the end of 2023. This is reported by themayor.eu.
As it is known, Slovenia will be the fourth country with such a fare payment system after Germany, Hungary and Luxembourg.
A Single Travel Card for All Types of Transport in Slovenia: What is the Ticket Price?
It is emphasized that the new travel card will allow traveling around the country by different types of transport and with different transport companies.
The Slovenian single ticket will cost
- 70 euros per month,
- for a year - 560 euros.
Shorter-term travel cards will also be available:
- 15 euros for a one-day travel card;
- 20 euros for 3 days of travel;
- 35 euros for a week.

It is noted that the single ticket in Slovenia will be more expensive than the German (49 euros) and Hungarian (25 euros) analogues. At the same time, the travel card will have the advantage of being transferable to other people. However, you will need to pay extra for this opportunity - the ticket will cost 90 euros per month and 720 euros per year.
As you know, Slovenia has previously taken certain measures to reduce the cost of travel - for example, the authorities subsidized an annual travel pass throughout the country for students, except for city buses.
Please note! In the absence of such a discounted ticket, children aged 6 to 15 will be entitled to a 50% discount on all tickets.
Earlier, we wrote that the Czech Republic is introducing a single ticket for rail travel from Prague to Kharkiv, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro. Find out more about how to use it and the fare in our article.
