CITY TOURS

Clock Museum (Schulhof, 2). In the heart of the Austrian capital, you can see perhaps the most powerful collection of watches in Europe. Seven hundred clocks from around the world on three floors of the building, many of them are valuable and unique in one way or another.

Hermesville (Lainzer Tiergarten). CONCERTS

Vienna is called the music capital of Europe - indeed, music permeates every street and every moment of being on it. The number of different festivals and concerts is simply amazing, and it is not necessarily classical works - there is plenty of modern music here as well.

Concert at a summer night. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra holds a large free concert every year in May or June near the Schönbrunn Palace in the park. The approximate date is the night of June 16. However, since it is given in the open air, if the weather is bad, the event may be postponed.

Festival on the Danube Islands. Fans of modern music could not help but hear about this festival - it is one of the largest in Europe. To get to it, you need to register in advance on the site - quarantine restrictions, that's that.

St. Peter's Cathedral (Peterspl. 1). On weekdays at 15:00 you can listen to a free concert of organ music in this most beautiful church in Vienna.

Church of St. Augustine (Augustinerstraße, 3). If you come here for mass at 11:00 on Sunday, you can listen to an organ concert with works by Schubert, Mozart, Weber and other composers. The church itself is magnificent and beautiful - it is the family church of the Habsburgs, and it is located near the Hofburg.

St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansplatz, 3). This cathedral is the main, in fact, Austrian one. As soon as you visit it, and you are outside the area where tickets for a concert of classical music are sold, you can listen to it for free. Such a life hack.

Schönbrunn Gardens. As you get acquainted with the sights of Vienna, of course, the Schönbrunn Palace complex will be is a must. However, the palace will not be free to walk, but the entrance to the gardens around it is completely free. It is enchanting: fountains, statues, magnificent flower beds and long quiet alleys, there is even a maze, and when you get to Gloriette Hill, you will see an amazing landscape.

Volksgarten. Landscape park on both sides of the Hofburg. Be sure to visit it when the roses are in bloom - you've never seen so much beauty!

Setagayapark (Gallmeyergasse, 4). A tiny corner of Japan in the heart of Vienna! This is a Japanese garden with streams and ponds, with decorative sakura, Japanese maples, azaleas and other beauties. You should also take a look at the tea house, the fountain and some authentic stone sculptures. However, it is open to visitors only in the warm season.

Lainzer Tiergarten (Lainzer Tor). This nature reserve on the outskirts of Vienna is a real, but very beautiful forest. When walking there - be careful, wild animals can happen.

Mount Kahlenberg (take bus 38A). There are vineyards around this mountain, there is a forest, and the view of Vienna from it is considered canonical. It is one of the favorite places of rest among locals.

Other attractions in Vienna

Rathausplatz Film Festival. In summer, a music festival is held near the town hall: at night you watch movies on a huge open-air screen, and during the day there is always music and local delicacies.

University of Vienna (Universitätsring, 1). The University of Vienna is famous for its very original and beautiful architecture, especially since you can walk here to your heart's content, because the entrance is always free for everyone.
