"Ukrzaliznytsia has big plans to develop its passenger business, announcing a number of innovative changes in the transportation system. One of the key announcements is the introduction of an online ticketing system for a direct train to Vienna by the end of 2023. 

It is emphasized that this is an important step towards improving the service and providing passengers with greater convenience and accessibility when planning their trips.

UZ will launch a new train to Vienna: details

A new Chop-Vienna route has been presented, making Chop a powerful hub connecting Kyiv and Lviv. Passengers will be able to use this convenient connection for fast and efficient travel between different regions of Ukraine and Austria.

Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, a member of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, emphasized the strategic importance of Chop as a hub that can become a key point for passengers traveling to different destinations. He also promised to expand the offer of seats for trains to Vienna.

As you know, currently only two 60-seat railcars run to Vienna and Budapest. 

According to Pertsovsky, the Austrian direction is among the third or fourth most popular among passengers. In this regard, Ukrzaliznytsia is considering a gradual increase in the number of seats on trains to 100-150 to meet the growing demand of passengers in this direction.

The head of the passenger division clarified that the train will have rolling stock that used to run from Austria to Romania.

"We have won it back. We are putting it to Chop. It connects with both Lviv and Kyiv," he emphasized.

These initiatives are in line with the development strategy of Ukrzaliznytsia aimed at providing passengers with the most modern and convenient travel conditions. The introduction of online ticket sales to Vienna will be an important step in modern business practice, and the new Chop-Vienna route will open up new opportunities for fast and comfortable transportation between different regions.

Buying tickets for the train Kyiv - Warsaw only with e-signature

Ukrzaliznytsia has introduced new rules for purchasing tickets for the Kyiv - Warsaw route to combat fraud. Now passengers can buy tickets only if they use an electronic signature in the Diya.Signature app from Ukrzaliznytsia. This decision is aimed at preventing the rapid sale of all available tickets by resellers who then resell them to passengers at inflated prices. This approach allows passengers to have greater access to tickets at reasonable prices and avoid excessive costs when purchasing them.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia refutes the process of returning tickets for international trains. Now passengers can conveniently and efficiently return tickets through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, avoiding the need to visit the station ticket office in person. This innovation simplifies the refund procedure and makes it more convenient for travelers.
