UNICEF and the UN close Blue Dot centers for Ukrainian refugees in Poland
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UNHCR have announced the phased closure of Blue Dot centers in Poland, safe places where women and children were supported after the outbreak of war.
These support centers were opened in Poland in March 2022 in transit zones where refugees are most in need of assistance: at border crossings, train stations, benefit distribution points and accommodation centers.
The work of the Blue Points will be completed by December 31, 2023.
During the period of operation of the Blue Points, nearly 950,000 services were provided to children and families fleeing the war. This included mental health and psychosocial support, use of space, child-friendly environment, referrals to child protection agencies, and information on healthcare, education, housing and transportation.
"Due to the changing needs of the refugee community and the protracted nature of the conflict, an important emphasis has been placed in recent months on moving towards a more sustainable approach through community centers working in collaboration with municipalities and local organizations to ensure that communities are empowered for the long term," UNICEF explains on its website.

We remind you! Finding a job in the EU is one of the most relevant topics for Ukrainians. After all, the leaders in the number of refugees - Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic - are inferior to many other countries in terms of employment conditions.
