Russia has been suspended from membership in the United Nations World Tourism Organization. This decision was taken by a majority vote of the General Assembly of the organization.

40 states voted for the suspension of Russia's membership.

    11 member states opposed:

    - Syria

    - Belarus

    - Kazakhstan

    - Nicaragua

    - Zimbabwe

    - Algeria

    - Bosnia and Herzegovina

    - North Korea

    - China

    - Egypt

India, Israel, Indonesia and Switzerland abstained.

According to the head of the State Agency for Tourism Development Mariana Oleskiv: "This decision will suspend the development of Russia's tourism industry, the world community, which sets tourist trends will no longer share with the aggressor their wealth and achievements. This step of the UNWTO will deprive Russia of a powerful platform to communicate and promote their interests, as well as access to many international programs. "

As in the UN Human Rights Council, Russia tried to simulate leaving the organization of its own accord, but failed. Russia is facing a total blockade of the entire civilized world, including in the field of tourism. When peaceful Ukrainians are dying, hostile tourism should not prosper. The diplomatic frontier continues its work.
