The Georgian government has decided to extend the visa-free stay for Ukrainian citizens, which is an important step. The new initiative provides an opportunity for Ukrainians to stay in Georgia without the need to obtain a visa for a longer period. Learn more about the updated terms
Georgian authorities have extended the period of visa-free stay in the country for Ukrainian citizens to three years. This is stated on the official website of the Georgian government.

Georgia has made an important decision for Ukrainian citizens: details
The relevant amendments were made to the Government Resolution No. 255 “On Approval of the List of Countries Whose Citizens Can Enter Georgia Without a Visa” of June 5, 2015.
According to the amendments, Ukrainians are allowed to enter Georgia without a visa and reside in the country for three years.
It is noted that the resolution comes into force immediately after publication.
As you know, previously the period of stay was limited to one year, but in February 2023 it was extended to two.

How many Ukrainians has Georgia accepted?
The country has granted asylum to refugees seeking protection from the war, and more than 20 thousand Ukrainian citizens are currently residing on its territory.
According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as of October 2023, there were about 27 thousand Ukrainian citizens in Georgia.
It is worth noting that Georgia supports Ukrainians in their struggle for freedom, but provides only humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
