"Ukrainians who wish to obtain the qualification of junior developer, graphic designer or another technical specialty will be able to receive a grant that can be spent only on IT courses. The state will allocate funding for 60,000 Ukrainians, who will be able to find work in this field after that," said Denys Shmyhal, and emphasized that this program should motivate people to stay in Ukraine and work to restore the state's economy.
It is expected that the amount that one person can receive is up to 30 thousand hryvnias. The total budget of the program is 1.8 billion hryvnias, which will provide an opportunity to start a career in IT for 60,000 Ukrainians.
Currently, this is only a project, the state has not allocated money yet. But it is expected that in the near future it will be possible to apply for the Start in IT program through Diia app.
Head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that the pilot project of this program has already started. Currently, it is financed by donors. They plan to recruit the first 1,000 people for training. These will be Ukrainians who have not worked in IT before and had no education in this field.
"That is, we are talking about switchers, about people who will change their profession and plan to get a new one," Mykhailo Fedorov emphasized.
