Unfortunately, today's realities in Ukraine require that citizens and guests of the country know all possible safety rules. Enemy shelling continues, so you should act in advance and protect yourself. Find out what to do if you are trapped
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, russia has fired thousands of missiles on the territory of Ukraine. Almost every day the news is shocking with new explosions and destruction. It is impossible to predict the new goals of the despotic regime, therefore, in order to protect yourself and your relatives, you must always respond to air warning signals.
In this article, we will tell you what to do if you find yourself under rubble. Every resident of Ukraine, both young and old, should know these rules, because this is precisely the situation where awareness can save lives.
Basic rules that can save your life during missile strikes, as well as a list of things to put in an emergency suitcase, can be found here.
• Do not panic and assess the situation
If you still find yourself under rubble, you need to reject panic, because it can lead to fatal consequences. Assess the situation in which you find yourself. Try to release your arms and legs carefully and without sudden movements.
If you see what has fallen on you and are able to move, try to carefully disassemble the blockage. Pay attention to the support on which the blockage rests. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to wait for help and not try to disassemble the destruction yourself.
• Give yourself first aid
If you still managed to free yourself, first assess your condition. If necessary, give yourself medical help: stop bleeding, fix a broken limb, etc.
• Call for help
If you realize that you cannot free yourself, and your movements can provoke an even bigger collapse, rescuers advise calling for help.
If you have a working phone at hand, turn on the flashlight and signal with light.
If there are pipes near you, you can signal by knocking. Never use matches or lighters, as this may cause an explosion.
• "Minutes of silence"
Remember that every 10-15 minutes, the rescuers arrange the so-called "minutes of silence", which are aimed at hearing the screams of people trapped under the rubble. If you realize that everything around has become quiet, shout loudly and call for help.
• Check your mobile phone
If you have a working phone at hand, try calling a loved one or 101 and explain your situation.
• If you see destruction - call 101
If you witness the destruction, call 911 immediately and give them all the information you have.
Pay attention! Due to constant massive attacks, more and more Ukrainians are forced to hide. Remember that the best way to protect yourself and your family is to not ignore the air raid warning and stay in a safe place.
