Controls on entry to Lithuania: details
The Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the checks started on July 7 at 08:00 and will continue until 8 am on July 13. Temporary innovations are related to the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12.
Checks are expected at the border with Latvia and Poland, at seaports and airports in Palanga, Vilnius and Kaunas.
Each passenger will be asked to present vehicle and travel documents.

What documents are required to cross the Lithuanian border?
It is noted that EU citizens need only present a passport and an identity card, while persons who are citizens of countries outside the European Union need to show a passport, visa or other documents confirming the legality of entry into the Schengen area.
Each Schengen country has been authorized to re-establish internal border controls if necessary to prevent internal security breaches within the country.
However, the authorities guarantee that travelers will not experience any inconvenience due to temporary checks. However, due to the increased checks, passengers should be prepared for a long wait.
"Depending on the situation and possible threats, checks will be carried out selectively based on risk analysis at any time of the day," the authorities said.
