Prague - Chop night train to start running in early 2024: what is known?
A new train service between Ukraine and the Czech Republic is planned to be launched in January 2024. Find out more about the schedule, route and number of seats in the new train
Czech private operator RegioJet, in cooperation with Ukrzaliznytsia, will start operating trains on the route from Prague to Ukraine and back in early 2024, International Railway Journal reports.
Since RegioJet does not have a license to operate in Ukraine, the new flight will be operated jointly with Ukrzaliznytsia. At the same time, RegioJet will pay a fee for access to the track to the UZ Infrastructure Management Department. The schedule for 2024, which will come into effect on December 10 this year, plans to provide a connection with UZ's domestic service in Chop.
Prague - Chop train route
Initially, the connection to Chop will be operated by a three-car train with a capacity of 140 passengers (80 sleeping and 60 sitting seats). Between Prague and Košice (Slovakia), the train will be operated by the daily RegioJet Praha - Košice - Humenné service with a maximum length of 18 cars.
The train service will be operated through the border crossing point Čierna nad Tisou in Slovakia.

Train schedule Prague - Chop
The train will depart from the main railway station in Prague at 21:38 and arrive in Chop at 10:35 the next day. In the opposite direction, the train will depart from Chop at 17:30 and arrive at the main railway station in Prague at 05:07 the next day.
New international trains from Ukraine: what carriers are planning
RegioJet aims to connect Ukraine with other capitals in Central Europe in the future with connections to Berlin via the border crossing in Przemysl (Poland), as well as from Vienna to Chop via Budapest and the Záhony border crossing in Hungary. However, the carrier notes that the new flights will require additional investment in infrastructure and a possible extension of the 1435 mm gauge to Lviv in Ukraine.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
