Imports of goods through Odesa region are growing rapidly: from which countries?
Inhaltsübersicht
The situation on Ukraine's western borders remains extremely tense, which is why both the Ukrainian government and private carriers continue to build new logistics routes for importing and exporting goods. Find out which countries import the most goods to Ukraine through Odesa region
Despite the fact that trade with Ukraine brought Poland a record balance in 2023, protests by Polish farmers and carriers on the western borders continue. In addition, the blockade of trucks is gaining momentum, as the Poles threaten to inspect vehicles at the borders with EU countries through which transportation to and from Ukraine may be carried out.
That is why the Ukrainian government and private carriers, in particular, are actively expanding logistics routes to and from Ukraine to reduce losses for exports and imports. Odesa Customs also reported an increase in the number of trading partners engaged in import operations.
What countries are imported to Ukraine through Odesa region?
According to information published on the official Facebook page of Odesa Customs, 71 countries became trading partners in import operations in January 2024. "For comparison, in January last year, there were 65 of them," the post says.

Remember that to leave Ukraine in a car with Ukrainian registration, you must have a Green Card insurance policy. It is mandatory in 50 countries, including the EU. Without such insurance, the car will not be allowed to cross the border! In addition, the absence or delay of insurance is fraught not only with fines that are several dozen times the cost of the insurance policy for a year, but also with the seizure of the car and deportation from the country with a subsequent ban on entry. You can take out insurance for the required period on our website. Read more about the amount of fines in Europe for not having a Green Card here.
We remind you! The agreement on liberalization of road freight transport (transport visa-free regime) between the EU and Ukraine is likely to be in place until the end of 2025, but the European Commission is proposing some changes. Read how the agreement is beneficial for Ukraine and what updates will be made to the new document in our previous article.
