Ukrainians can calculate their future pension payments on their own. To do this, you need to get online references through Diia and understand how payments are calculated in the country. Find out how to do it and what is needed for this purpose
Ukrainians who are currently accumulating work experience can independently check their future payments through the Diia web portal. Here's how to do it.
Through the web portal, you can order the necessary certificates that will allow you to calculate the pension you have today, taking into account your work experience.
How do I find out my pension?
1. Log in to the website and go to the Services section.
2. Click on the option "Pensions, benefits and assistance".
3 From the list of services offered, select the option you are interested in: "Pensioner's income statement", "Pension application", "Pension payment adjustment", "OK-5 certificate", "OK-7 certificate".
What are the OK-5 and OK-7 certificates?
The "Certificate OK-5" provides information on the amount of earnings taken into account when calculating pensions, insurance period and payment of insurance contributions.
At the same time, the OK-7 contains information on the amounts of salary from which unified social security contributions are paid and the length of service since 2011. This allows you to determine the insurance period for calculating the amount of sick leave, unemployment benefits and other social benefits.
You can also obtain these certificates through the Diia app, not just the web portal.

How is the amount of pension calculated in Ukraine?
As explained by “Na Pensii”, the amount of a pension is determined by two main factors: the length of official employment and an individual coefficient that reflects how much a person's official income exceeded, was equal to, or was lower than the average wage in the country.
The formula used to calculate the pension is as follows: the average salary at the time of granting the pension multiplied by the length of service and the individual coefficient equals the amount of the pension.
The values of the variables in this formula:
Average salary is the average salary in Ukraine for the three years preceding the date of granting the pension, and from which insurance contributions were paid.
Individual salary coefficient is the sum of the ratio of the salary in a particular month to the average salary in Ukraine. The coefficient is calculated by dividing the amount of salary received by the amount of the average salary for the relevant month. The sum of the salary coefficients is divided by the insurance period for the month.
The insurance period coefficient is the number of years of service multiplied by the value of one year of insurance period and divided by 12. In fact, the number of years of service must be multiplied by 0.01.
Please note that one year of service contributes only 1% to the pension, and the personal coefficient can be increased three to five times.
Here's an example of calculating pensions for three pensioners with identical years of service - 35 years - but different personal coefficients: 0.5, 1, and 3, using data on the average salary of UAH 13423.28 from the Pension Fund for autumn 2023:
That is, the calculations are as follows: UAH 13,423.28 (average salary as of 2023) x 35 years (length of service) x 0.5 (personal coefficient in the first case) = UAH 2,349 pension.
Using the same calculation method, we see that the pension under the coefficient of 1 is UAH 4,698, and under the coefficient of 3 - UAH 14,094.
In other words, not only length of service is important when it comes to pensions, but also salary. The higher the salary, the higher the pension.

In particular, we are talking about the re-indexation of pensions and the cancellation of payments to certain categories of IDPs.
