Rumours around the royal family: what happened to Kate Middleton and King Charles
Inhaltsübersicht
Kate Middleton and King Charles III did not appear in public for some time and this became a reason for rumours around the royal family. The situation went so far that in the network began to spread information about the death of the monarch and the collapse in the relationship of the heir William and his wife Kate Middleton. Find out what is being said about the situation in the family and what facts the British rely on when talking about the apparent problems at Buckingham Palace
For several days now, various rumours have been circulating around the royal family. They began to spread amid the absence of Prince William's wife Kate Middleton and King Charles III of Great Britain. And users of social network X even claimed that flags were at half-mast outside government buildings. We'll tell you what rumours are circulating and what's going on.
To begin with, earlier it became known that King Charles III had been diagnosed with cancer, and even earlier, in January 2024, the court announced that Kate Middleton would undergo abdominal surgery and would not be able to perform ceremonial duties until Easter - this year's holiday in Britain falls on 31 March. And after that, a variety of conspiracy theories began to circulate on the Internet.
What about Kate Middleton?
In mid-January, Kate underwent surgery. The Royal Court reported that everything went well.
Until March, the situation remained stable, as everyone understood that the prince's wife was undergoing rehabilitation, and publicity was not her first priority. However, amid her long absence, Kate posted a photo of herself with her three children, which instantly became the cover of almost all British online publications, but was soon removed as signs of photoshop were found on the frame.
Many rumours began to circulate around the photo and Kate Middleton herself, up to the point where she allegedly had an unsuccessful operation or even died. However, Middleton soon apologised for the photo herself, saying that she had "got carried away with the processing of the photo".
Many tabloids, citing anonymous sources, reported that Kate was not ill and had disappeared from public space because Prince William was allegedly having an affair with former model Rose Hanbury. And everything seems to be so serious that Princess Middleton is even ready to give up her ceremonial duties.
On the evening of 18 March, various British publications published on their websites images of Kate taken by an eyewitness last weekend when she and her husband visited a farm shop near Windsor Castle.
In the new pictures, the princess looks healthy and rested, which may dispel speculation about her condition at least partially.

What about Charles III: is he alive?
Information speculation around the king also began to spread on 18 March, when the tragic news that Charles III had died unexpectedly spread through social media and some media outlets.
The rumours are not unfounded, as the King of Britain is currently undergoing cancer treatment. However, the court reported that Charles's health is under the control of a doctor and the prognosis is good.
On Monday, information about his alleged death was published online with a screenshot from the alleged Buckingham Palace website, which stated that the monarch had died. However, there was no such information on the website itself.
Amidst all this hysteria, there were reports that flags on some government buildings in the United Kingdom were at half-mast.
russian Telegram channels started spreading the fake news, and then Ukrainian channels picked up the news. In less than an hour, these publics refuted the information themselves.
Amidst the rumours, Buckingham Palace said that King Charles III continues to carry out his official duties and attend to private matters.
We remind you! On the evening of 8 September, the world heard the sad news of the death of Elizabeth II. The Queen of Great Britain passed away at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
