The real spring continues in Ukraine, which this year gives warmth and sunny weather. If you are looking for solitude with nature and want to find alternatives to the popular Carpathians, we offer you a number of picturesque places that will please you with their beauty and tranquility.

Korostyshevsky quarry (Zhytomyr region)

This is a flooded granite quarry with crystal clear water, surrounded by rocks. The quarry is popular among divers and climbing enthusiasts. The scenery here is so impressive that the place is often used for filming movies. You can get out here for a few hours and for the whole weekend with tents, organising large picnics.

Buksky Canyon (Cherkassy region)

It is considered to be one of the most beautiful canyons in Ukraine. Located on the Gorny Tikich River, the canyon amazes with its sheer cliffs and turbulent river stream. It is an ideal place for a quiet holiday in nature. The fact that the Gorny Tikich River flows in Proterozoic granites, estimated to be 2 billion years old, and forms a deep and narrow canyon, one of the ledges of which is the Rodionov Rock, is also fascinating.

These rocks stretch along the river for about 2.5 kilometres. Nearby is the Vyr waterfall and the ruins of a structure made of huge granite blocks, which is compared to Stonehenge.

Dniester Canyon

One of the largest canyons in Europe, which stretches for hundreds of kilometres. Here you can see rare species of plants and animals, as well as enjoy kayaking or hiking. Formed by the Dniester River, the canyon borders four regions - Khmelnitsky, Chernivtsi, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk - and is 250 kilometres long.

The canyon was formed due to the special structure of the relief and natural phenomena associated with wind and water erosion.

Ukrainian canyons are breathtaking in their appearance, undoubtedly striking in their beauty and are not inferior to the famous American canyons. To see the breathtaking depths of canyons and impressive landscapes you can choose a Ukraine tour to suit your taste. Travel through the picturesque corners of Ukraine together with Visit Ukraine!

Tustan

Tustan is a unique historical and natural complex, including the remains of an ancient settlement and impressive cliffs. The place is perfect for historical excursions and trekking.

The rock city-fortress (IX-XX-XVIII centuries) is one of the most beautiful, most picturesque places in Ukraine. Among its admirers were Lesya Ukrainka, Ivan Franko, and Ivan Vagilevich. Tustan is a unique monument of history and architecture and has no analogues in the world. Powerful rock formations, which give an idea of the scale and grandeur of the fortress, have survived to this day.

Bakota

Bakota is a picturesque village in Podolskie Tovtrah, known for its cave monasteries and breathtaking views of the Dniester estuary.

Bakota was first mentioned in documents from 1240 as a significant town on the Dniester Lowlands, which later became known as Podolia. The population of the city at that time was 2.5 thousand people, which was a very significant figure for that era. The city had a large trading port on the Dniester River. Due to its strategic location, Bacota controlled a key route along the Dniester, which made it an object of conquest by the Tatar-Mongols, Moldavians, Poles and Lithuanian princes.

Tarakanovski Fort

This is an abandoned fortress from the late 19th century that attracts history buffs and urban explorers. The fort is surrounded by picturesque landscapes that add to its mystique.

The fort has been the site of important historical events. It was used as a place of deployment for the soldiers of the Russian Empire to defend the western borders. For this purpose, they decided to build a whole system of unique and powerful defence fortifications. Then the fort was occupied by the Austrians, and eventually Polish army units defended the fort against Budyonny's army.

Lake Kit (Zhitomir region)

The lake, unusually shaped like a whale, is located in a picturesque forest near Zhytomyr, on the territory of Levkovsky forestry. Its unique contour inspired the nickname "Whale" for holidaymakers.

This place was discovered relatively recently, but has already managed to gain popularity among locals, travellers and photography enthusiasts. Whale Lake offers great opportunities for fishing, camping and enjoying the magnificent views, making it an ideal destination for an outdoor holiday.

Actovsky Canyon (Nikolaev region)

Actovsky Canyon is known for its rock formations and ancient forests. This place is suitable for hiking, photographing the unique nature and observing wild fauna. The canyon is often referred to as the "Ukrainian Colorado" for its spectacular landscapes.

The canyon, located in the Voznesensky district, covers an area of about 250 hectares, presenting a unique combination of river and mountain landscapes. The depth of the canyon in some places reaches 50 metres. Due to its appearance, the canyon resembles the geographical formations of North America, which makes it popular among tourists from all over the world.

Radon Lake (Nikolaev region)

Radon Lake attracts visitors with a unique opportunity to swim in the clear waters.

This lake is located near the village of Migea, 157 kilometres from Nikolaev. This body of water has no natural origin, previously there was a granite quarry in its place. After the cessation of works in the quarry, nature took the initiative: the former quarry was filled with water thanks to underground springs, turning into a picturesque lake, the depth of which reaches 40 metres.

We physically could not mention all the unique objects of Ukraine, as there are quite a lot of them. In this regard, we suggest you to look for holiday options in our tour bank, where there are about 800 actual offers for various holidays.
