On January 1, 2025, the A1 highway in Poland (Gdańsk - Toruń) became a toll road again for all drivers of cars, motorcycles and small pickup trucks. This means that the toll exemption that had been in effect since September 2023 is no longer valid.

How much does it cost to drive on the A1 highway?

Motorcycles and cars with two axles:

- A full toll on the A1 motorway (152 km) costs PLN 29.90.

- If you use only a part of the highway, the cost is calculated at the rate of PLN 0.16 per 1 km.

Other categories of vehicles:

- For passenger cars with two axles, if one of them is equipped with twin wheels, motorcycles with trailers, vehicles with three axles or vehicles with trailers, the cost remains at PLN 71 (PLN 0.38 per 1 km).

- Oversized vehicles pay PLN 298.90 for the entire motorway (PLN 1.6 per 1 km).

How to pay for the A1 motorway?

Standard toll system

1. Getting a ticket: At the entrance to the highway, the driver receives a ticket, which must be kept until the end of the trip.

2. Payment:

At the exit of the highway, the ticket must be presented at the toll booth.

Payment is accepted in cash or by credit card.

3. Loss of the ticket: In case of loss of the ticket, the driver is obliged to pay the maximum amount according to the tariff for his/her vehicle.

AmberGO system

For convenience, drivers can use the AmberGO system, which:

- Works without the need to stop and collect tickets.

- Automatically calculates the amount to be paid for registered users.

Toll collection points

There are 12 toll plazas along the 152-kilometer stretch of the A1 highway, including:

PPO Rusocin

SPO Stanisławie

SPO Grudziądz

SPO Lisewo

and others.

These innovations require drivers to carefully plan their trips and take into account travel costs. The AmberGO system can greatly simplify this process for regular highway users.
