In 2025, Wroclaw Airport will temporarily cease operations due to large-scale modernization work. This is important news for all those who frequently use this airport, including Ukrainians traveling to Poland or further to Europe.

When and why is the airport being closed?

Wroclaw Airport will be completely closed from October 26 to December 4, 2025. During this period, all flights will be canceled and travelers will have to look for alternative options.

The reason for the closure is modernization, which will significantly expand the terminal and improve passenger comfort. Currently, the airport is designed for 4 million passengers a year, but this figure was already exceeded in 2024. This created inconveniences for travelers and also affected the quality of service.

What will change after the modernization?

The reconstruction will significantly improve the airport's infrastructure. Karol Przywara, Wroclaw Airport CEO, noted that these changes will have a positive impact on passenger safety and comfort, as well as contribute to the further development of the airport. It is expected that after the modernization, Wroclaw will be able to accommodate even more flights and provide faster service to travelers.

Alternative airports for Ukrainians

As Wroclaw will temporarily cease operations, Ukrainians will have to look for alternative routes. Here are some nearby airports that will be convenient to travel from:

• Katowice-Piżowice Airport (KTW ) - located about 200 km from Wroclaw. It has a large selection of low-cost flights, including Ryanair and Wizz Air.

• Krakow-Balice Airport (KRK)is one of the largest airports in Poland, with numerous international flights.

• Poznan-Lawica Airport (POZ)is a convenient option for those traveling to the north of Poland.

• Warsaw-Chopin Airport (WAW) and Warsaw-Modlin Airport (WMI ) are the main Polish hubs, offering easy access to various European countries.

What should travelers do?

If you were planning to travel through Wroclaw Airport during this period, you should rebook your tickets in advance through other Polish airports or choose alternative routes. It is also recommended to follow the official announcements of the airport regarding the progress of the reconstruction.
