Starting from September 5, Ukrainians who were forced to leave for Latvia because of the war in Ukraine can exchange cash UAH for euro without a fee. The National Bank of Ukraine and the Bank of Latvia concluded the agreement.

Hryvnia can be exchanged for euro in the branches of AS Industra Bank and AS Rietumu banka in six cities of Latvia. Bills of 100 to 1000 UAH denominations are accepted for exchange, banknotes of lower denominations and coins are not exchanged. Also, significantly worn or damaged banknotes can't be exchanged.

Exchange limit is up to 10,000 UAH per person. The exchange is carried out at a fixed rate, which was set by the Ukrainian National Bank.

Information about the rate is updated weekly on the official websites of the Bank of LatviaAS Industra Bank and AS Rietumu banka.
