How to obtain Andorran citizenship?
Obtaining citizenship in Andorra is not easy. We can say that this process is the most difficult in the world. Since 1996, the country has adopted a law on the naturalization of foreigners. To obtain Andorran citizenship, you need to live here for 25 years. It should be noted that earlier it was even more difficult to become an Andorran citizen. They could only be family members who had lived in the country for at least three generations.

1. Naturalization
Citizenship by naturalization is possible only after 25 years of continuous residence in Andorra. This is one of the longest requirements among the countries of the world.

2. Birth in the territory of Andorra
- A child born in Andorra to Andorran nationals automatically becomes a citizen, even if the parents live abroad.

3. Marriage to an Andorran national
Marriage to an Andorran national can also speed up the process of obtaining citizenship. However:
- A woman married to an Andorran national can obtain citizenship 3 years after the marriage.
- For men married to an Andorran citizen, the rules are stricter: they can obtain citizenship only on general grounds (25 years of residence) if the wife has a brother or sister.

Why is it difficult to obtain Andorran citizenship?
