Allowed entry of Ukrainians for all types of travel
Ukraine from July 31, 2021, included in the list of countries of category D, which provides the opportunity to visit the territory of the Italian Republic for any purpose, including tourism.
For visa-free entry to Italy you need a valid biometric passport and get a health insurance policy for the entire period of stay in the country.
However, those wishing to visit Italy should consider the following basic requirements.
Documents are required for vaccinated persons:
- completed online form of sanitary control Passenger Locator Form, which is available at https://app.euplf.eu/;
- present to the carrier or any other authorized person a certificate of completion of the full cycle of vaccination with a vaccine recognized by the EMA (Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson, Moderna, AstraZeneca), or a corresponding "green" certificate (Green Pass) of European standard, confirming vaccination course. Italy recognizes Covid certificates in the Diia app. The last vaccination should be no earlier than 14 days before the trip (vaccination certificate is always provided with a negative test result);
- provide a certificate of negative molecular (PCR) or rapid test for Covid-19, which must be done no more than 72 hours before arrival.
Minors between the ages of 0 and 17 are exempt from the requirement of self-isolation if accompanied by parents who are also exempt from this requirement (due to the availability of a vaccination certificate). Children 6 to 17 years old must have a negative test result.
In the absence of vaccination, travelers can still enter Italy, but they must:
- fill in the online form of sanitary control Passenger Locator Form, which is available at https://app.euplf.eu/;
- provide a certificate of negative molecular (PCR) or rapid test for Covid-19, which must be done no more than 72 hours before arrival;
- self-isolate for 5 days, informing the local health authorities.
- to pass repeated testing after completion of the established self-isolation.
Children under the age of 6 are exempt from the molecular or antigenic test, but should still isolate themselves if necessary.
There are also certain exceptions that exempt from testing before departure, quarantine and testing for 5 days:
- any person entering Italy for a period not exceeding 120 hours (five days) due to a justified need, work, health condition or emergency, with the obligation at the end of the specified period to immediately leave the country or begin a 5-day period of self-isolation, and at the end of the specified period - take a PCR test or antigen;
- any person using private vehicles for transit through Italian territory for a period not exceeding 36 hours, with the obligation to immediately leave the country after the specified period or to begin a 5-day period of self-isolation, and at the end of the specified period - to take a PCR test or antigen.
