It is allowed (without requiring a test and isolation) to anyone who travels by private transport through the territory of Italy for a period not exceeding thirty-six (36) hours with the obligation, after this period, to immediately leave the territory of the country or, if this has not been done, to begin a period of self-isolation at the address , which is listed on the Passenger Locator Form, within five days and do a molecular or antigenic test at the end of the isolation period.
Air transit is allowed on a general basis and according to the established transit rules, provided that there are transit zones at airports and there is no need to cross the border.
If there are no transit zones at airports and, accordingly, there is a need to cross the border, transit is allowed, subject to the rules of entry into the territory of the Italian Republic and transit stay specified above.
ATTENTION: when traveling by air and in transit, you must also take into account the requirements of airlines for boarding the aircraft.

In addition to the above rules, the rules of the need to confirm the purpose of the trip, the place of stay, the availability of the necessary funds, the date of departure from Italy, etc., remain in force, which can be checked by the officers of the Italian border police upon entering the country. The final decision on admission / refusal of entry is always made by the Italian Border Police (Polizia di Frontiera)
