New rules of entry into the Sultanate of Oman come into force on September 1, 2021
1. All passengers arriving in Oman must present a complete COVID-19 vaccination certificate issued at least 14 days before the planned trip with a QR code, which contains information about the person vaccinated, the name of the vaccine and the date of vaccination.
As of 21.09.2021, the following vaccines are recognized by the competent authorities of Oman: AstraZeneca (all types of production), Covishield, Janssen, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac or Sputnik.
Not officially defined, but Oman accepts the Diia application, the printed certificate from the Diia portal and the international certificate issued by the doctor as proof of vaccination
2. All travelers who present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 will be exempted from quarantine upon arrival. Citizens of the Sultanate and those holding a valid entry visa or residence permit in Oman will be exempt from the requirement to complete travel authorization forms. This PCR test must be done no earlier than 72 hours for travelers from countries from which the flight duration is less than 8 hours, and no earlier than 96 hours from countries from which the flight duration is more than 8 hours.
Persons under the age of 18 and who have contraindications to the use of vaccines against COVID-19 will be exempted from the requirement to present a certificate of vaccination and provide a PCR test.
3. Persons who have not done a PCR test in the country of departure are allowed to enter Oman. At the same time, this category of persons is subject to mandatory PCR testing upon arrival, as well as mandatory quarantine with the wearing of a Tarrasud + electronic bracelet to track movement. If a negative test result is obtained, quarantine is terminated, and if a positive test result is obtained, it will last 10 days.
4. All travelers before the planned trip to Oman must log in to the Tarrasud+ application and download the negative PCR test results and the vaccination certificate. In cases of taking the PCR test upon arrival, individuals must pay the established fees when registering on the Tarassud+ platform.
Based on the above points, the ban on entry into the Sultanate of Oman is terminated for all persons who are or who have visited in the last 14 days countries from the "red list" (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Great Britain, Sudan, Brazil, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana , Sierra Leone, Ethiopia, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Tunisia, Libya, Argentina, Colombia).
All types of visas to enter Oman issued from early 2021 will be extended until the end of the year without requiring any additional fees to be paid.
