Temporary home for Ukrainians at an equestrian centre in Ireland: what is known
The Kill Equestrian Centre is located near the village of Kildare. The local authorities intended to accommodate Ukrainian refugees there in November last year. But then Kildare was shaken by protests by local residents who expressed their concern about the unfavourable conditions in the equestrian centre for people who had survived all the horrors of war, namely the lack of electricity, proper sewage and ventilation. A few days after the protests, a fire broke out in the equestrian centre.
But now, after repairs, the equestrian centre is equipped with all the necessary conditions for comfortable living. The building was renovated, painted, equipped with a comfortable kitchen, dining room and even a kitchen elevator to take food to another floor.
"It was a huge job. The equestrian centre has undergone a real transformation. Most of the local people will welcome the newly arrived refugees," commented Fintan County Mayor Brett Brett.

In total, the renovated centre can accommodate 340 people. Special accommodation pods have been set up to accommodate the Ukrainians.
The Kill Equestrian Centre will soon open its doors to the first group of refugees. It is expected that 50 families will arrive, which is about 150 people.
