Ukrainians who have found refuge abroad, in particular in Poland, will be able to receive pensions and other state benefits by international postal transfer. Find out more about how to use the new service
Citizens of Ukraine who are abroad, in particular in Poland, will now be able to receive pensions and other social benefits through international postal transfers. This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
The new pilot project is referred to in a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of August 11, 2023.
It is noted that this initiative is aimed primarily at people who previously received these payments through Ukrposhta, as they do not have bank accounts with national banks.
"The relevant draft resolution was prepared by the Ministry of Social Policy following meetings to discuss the problems of Ukrainian citizens temporarily residing in Poland. The pilot project provides for the payment of pensions and financial assistance to recipients temporarily residing outside Ukraine by international postal transfer by Ukrposhta JSC. The innovation will simplify the receipt of pensions and other types of financial assistance for those citizens who received them by mail in Ukraine and did not have current accounts opened in authorized banks," the Ministry of Reintegration noted.

Pensions will be sent by mail: how to use the new service
Initially, the new service will be available mainly to Ukrainians living in Poland. In the future, a similar experiment will be implemented in other countries.
You can apply to receive payments by postal order in one of these ways:
- Fill out the appropriate online form on the Ukrposhta website.
- Fill out an application in paper form (an example is available here) and send it to:
JSC "Ukrposhta", 22 Khreshchatyk str., Kyiv, Ukraine, 01001 (JSC "Ukrposhta", str. Khreshchatyk, 22, Kyiv, Ukraine, 01001). Be sure to indicate "pension by transfer" on the envelope.
International postal transfers will be delivered to the applicant's address once a month, the next month after the application is submitted. Payment will be made in the currency of the country where the recipient is located. In other words, a Ukrainian residing in Poland will receive payment in Polish zlotys.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Ukrposhta representatives by phone: +38 (044) 323-14-46.
