Ukrainian women with a medical or pharmaceutical specialty are subject to registration for military service starting in October. But, as the Armed Forces explain, this is not mobilization, but a step to summarize data on the reserve of medical professionals.
We will tell you who and why must come to the TAC in October, what documents you need to have with you, and who is not subject to registration in the article below.

Military registration for women from October 1: who has to come to the TAC?
Starting from October 1, female medical professionals aged 18 to 60 must register for military service. This applies to doctors, nurses, midwives, dentists and pharmacists. The specialty will be taken into account both according to the diploma and the actual place of work.
Important! According to Ukrainian law, evasion of military registration during martial law is punishable by a fine of 850 to 1700 hryvnias.
For those women who have a military-related profession, registration is voluntary.
Why do women need to go to the TAC?
According to the decree, women have to come to the TAC to summarize data on the available reserve of medical professionals. However, as explained by the Armed Forces, in the future, women may be called up for military service or engaged to perform work to ensure the defense of the state.
"Such women perform military duty on an equal footing with men. That is, the legislation does not distinguish between women and men liable for military service," the Armed Forces adds.

What documents do women need to register for military service?
To be registered with the military registration and enlistment office, women doctors must prepare the following documents
– application for registration;
– passport or ID card of a citizen of Ukraine;
– identification code;
– a document confirming the specialty/profession;
– a certificate from the place of work indicating the specialty in which the woman works;
– birth certificate of children/guardianship document (if any);
– marriage certificate (if available);
– 3x4 photos.
In addition, registration requires passing a medical commission, which must determine fitness or unfitness for military service. To do this, you must be examined by a therapist, surgeon, neurologist, psychiatrist, ophthalmologist, otorhinolaryngologist, dentist, dermatologist and gynecologist.
Which women are entitled to a deferral from military registration?
According to Ukrainian legislation, pregnant women and those with children must also come to the TAC, however, under certain conditions they can receive a deferral from registration. This applies to:
– Pregnant women (regardless of the period of pregnancy, a pregnant female medical worker will be recognized as unfit for service);
– Women on maternity leave, those raising a child alone or with 3 or more minor children, as well as those raising a disabled child who needs constant care according to the relevant medical report;
– women whose husband serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Can women registered with the military travel abroad?
According to the statements of the government and the Border Customs Service, restrictions on leaving Ukraine will apply only to women mobilized to the army. This means that being registered will not affect the ability of a female doctor to cross the Ukrainian border. In order to restrict women's departure, the Cabinet of Ministers must adopt a corresponding decision, but there is currently no such draft law.
