The e-registration system eCherha, which was previously aimed at simplifying the border crossing process for freight and passenger buses, is now expanding its availability to drivers of passenger cars. Find out more about what this means for drivers and cars
At a government meeting on February 27, a decision was made to expand the electronic queue system to include passenger car drivers. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"The development of digitalization is key to improving public administration. The eCherha project, which we are actively developing, greatly simplifies the border crossing procedure," - the Head of Government shared.
In Ukraine, eCherha will soon be available for passenger car drivers
Shmyhal also noted that more than 800,000 vehicles have already crossed the border thanks to this system, which helps to optimize the process and reduce cases of illegal actions.
According to the Ministry of Reconstruction, the eCherha system has been successfully operating for trucks for over a year, and has recently been adapted for buses.
New functionality for cars is currently being developed.

Oleksandr Kubrakov, Minister of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, explained that the challenge is that different types of transport require their own logic of service in the eCherha system. Work is currently underway to create a unique algorithm from scratch.
A test launch for passenger cars is expected to take place by the end of the year.

The insurance must be issued for the entire period of stay abroad; if the trip requires more time, the Green Card can be extended.
