Ukrzaliznytsia has launched ticket monitoring and redemption: how does the function work?
UZ has launched the function of monitoring and automatic ticket redemption. This new feature will be a significant step forward in the convenience of users who frequently travel by rail. Learn more about how the update works
Ukrzaliznytsia has completed testing the monitoring and automatic ticket redemption function in its app. The services are now available to all users. This was reported by the carrier's press service.
Ukrzaliznytsia's ticket monitoring and auto-buyback feature: details
Now, users authorized through Diia.Signature can monitor in two ways
• for trains that are already on sale (with the ability to monitor the availability of specific seats);
• for destinations (with the ability to monitor the availability of trains between selected cities).
When monitoring a particular train, you can activate automatic ticket redemption. To do this, you need to enter passenger data and pay for the order: when the function is activated, funds will be withdrawn immediately, and if the monitoring is canceled or the required tickets are not found, the funds will be returned to the card automatically.
When the tickets are found, users will receive a push notification in the app. If the automatic redemption function is enabled, users will also receive a notification about already redeemed tickets.
Please note! Monitoring and automatic ticket redemption are not available for trains to/from Poland (except for Intercity+) and the direct train Kyiv - Vienna, but users can receive notifications when ticket sales for these destinations are opened.

Is automatic ticket redemption mandatory?
When monitoring tickets in the UZ app, you can decide whether to automatically redeem tickets. Oleksandr Shevchenko, Head of Passenger Communications at Ukrzaliznytsia, spoke about this new functionality during the United News telethon.
He noted that now passengers do not have to set an alarm and get up early to rush to buy tickets. Instead, they can turn on the ticket monitoring feature and receive notifications on their phones about the availability of their desired routes.
The ticket monitoring functionality allows you to enter all the necessary parameters, such as the type of carriage or upper/lower seat, and the system automatically finds the appropriate tickets.
In addition, users can decide whether they want to automatically purchase tickets or whether they prefer to select each ticket individually.
Shevchenko also noted that it is possible to return a ticket, but this must be done at least an hour and a half before the train departure. The monitoring function stops functioning an hour and a half before the flight, and payment is made from the linked card.
Safety while while traveling
Remember that to ensure a safe stay abroad, you should take care of reliable health insurance in advance, which will not only help you maintain your health but also protect you from unforeseen expenses. You can apply for an insurance policy covering emergency medical care in case of illness and accidents, as well as inpatient and outpatient care around the world on the Visit Ukraine website.
We remind you! Traveling to and from Ukraine is difficult due to the closed airspace, and therefore you can only cross the border by land. You can find more information about the trains that run between Ukraine and European countries that can help you get to your destination here.
