On August 25, Kyiv will host the 11th edition of the Run in Vyshyvankas, which annually brings together professional athletes, amateurs and children. Participants will be able to test their strength on the 5, 10 and 21.1 km courses.

The event is part of the Independence Day celebrations and has already become a tradition that is gaining popularity not only in Ukraine but also abroad.

Features of the Race in Embroidered Shirts

This event was first held in 2014 and has since gained international recognition. The symbol of the race is the Ukrainian embroidered shirt that participants wear during the competition.

Running courses are held in different cities of Ukraine, Europe and the United States, which helps to popularize Ukrainian culture and support national traditions.

This year's event has a charitable purpose - 15% of each registration will be used to support the Liberi Studio sports medicine and rehabilitation studio, which provides free rehabilitation for the military.

Who can participate?

Anyone from 14 years of age is allowed to participate in the 5 km race, 16 years of age and older for the 10 km race, and 18 years of age and older for the longest course of 21.1 km, provided there are no health contraindications.

There are separate courses for children of 100 and 500 meters: for kids under 6 years old and for children aged 7 to 13 years old, respectively.

This year, the program also includes a 5 km Nordic walk, which has no age restrictions.

It is important to note that participation in the race is free for combatants.

Registration and location

The race will start in the VDNG Urban Park at 1 Academician Glushkov Avenue. The route will run along an asphalt road. Everyone has to register online by August 23.

Please note! All registered participants will receive a starter pack, which includes a special running backpack, a T-shirt, a participant's bib number and a transponder chip for time measurement. At the finish line, participants receive medals and gifts from the organizers.

In the event of an air raid, the event will be temporarily suspended and will resume after the threat has passed. Participants are advised to follow safety rules, leave the park and go to the shelters marked on the route map.

How can combatants register?

To participate for free, combatants need to send an email to [email protected] with an application for participation.

The letter should include their full name and documents confirming their participation in hostilities. In response, they will receive a unique promotional code that will allow them to register for the chosen distance at a discount (100% discount means participation in the race for 1 UAH and a payment system fee of 18 UAH).
