February changes, or new rules of entry into the EU

From February 1, the recommendations of the Council of the European Union come into force, according to which quarantine restrictions will not depend on the country from which the tourist enters (with the exception of states where COVID-19 is significantly spread), but on the individual sanitary status of a person.

So the key factors for entering the EU countries will be:

▪️ a full course of vaccination – provided that more than 14, but not more than 270 days have passed since the last dose (general requirement, however, each country sets its own time), or if the person received a booster dose after that;

▪️ negative test – a PCR test obtained no more than 72 hours before the trip, or an antigen test obtained a maximum of 24 hours before the trip;

▪️ recovery from COVID-19 – provided that no more than 180 days have passed since the date of a positive test.

They must be confirmed by valid EU digital certificates – for Ukrainians, this is Diia. Persons without an EU digital certificate may be required to take a test before arrival or after – no later than 24 hours, with the exclusion categories, in particular children under 12 years of age.
