Lviv is a city that is impossible not to fall in love, because everyone will find something special for themselves here.
And today Lviv is one of the safest cities in Ukraine, so if for some reason you postpone visiting Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and other popular tourist cities, pay attention to Lviv. The city has a convenient Lviv International Airport, many hotels and hostels, cafes and restaurants, many museums, historical and architectural monuments, as well as unique comfort and color.
Getting acquainted with it should start from its central part - Rynok (Market) Square. It is without exaggeration to see the whole medieval city. Each house has its own history, its own unique architecture. Thus, Chorna Kamyanytsia (Black House) is a monument of Renaissance architecture of the XVI-XVII centuries and has no analogues in Europe. Today it is part of the Lviv Historical Museum, where you can get acquainted with the city's past. The Kornyakt Palace and the Italian Courtyard are built in the Italian style, reminiscent of Florence and Rome. There is also the Lubomyrsky Castle, which houses an ethnographic collection, the Royal House, which has become a historical museum. And the Town Hall is the highest town hall in the country, from the observation deck of which you can see the whole old town. Fountains with bowls of statues of Greek gods attract special attention to the square.
But what a Lviv without coffee. One of the main attractions is the cafe "Coffee Mine", also located on the main square. This is a creative place where you can not only taste more than 30 types of coffee and buy your favorite, but also go down to the coffee mine to learn how it is extracted.
And for lovers of sweet, a real paradise is the Chocolate Workshop. Here you can go on a chocolate tour, learn about the traditions of making Lviv chocolate, taste many of its varieties from white to extra black. Or maybe you want to try yourself as a chocolatier? Lvivarnia is an interactive museum of brewing. Here everyone will be able to feel like a professional brewer, learn the history of beer and look into the secrets of the brewing process. As many as three floors of expositions, a souvenir shop with unusual gifts, tasting rooms where you can taste the best beers - what else true connoisseurs need.
In the center of Lviv is one of the oldest cemeteries in the country - Lychakiv Cemetery, where many famous people are buried: writers and poets, cultural and artistic figures, soldiers, politicians, composers and singers, historians and architects. There are more than 300,000 burials on an area of 40 hectares. Today it is a historical-memorial museum-reserve. Crypts and monuments, sculptural compositions, which are more than two hundred years old - are true masterpieces of art and architecture. Many of them are made by famous masters.
Lviv Arsenal is the only weapons museum in Ukraine. The two floors of the building are filled with cold steel, metal and firearms of the XI-XX centuries, armor of soldiers. It exhibits four and a half thousand samples of armaments collected in 30 countries. Once here, you are immersed from the first steps in a special atmosphere, where you will get acquainted with the evolution of weapons, learn how it was made and who fought them.
It is impossible to visit Lviv and not visit the favorite place of tourists and locals - the park "High Castle". Bright and majestic it can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Here you can walk along the picturesque alleys, admire the historical monuments or climb the Castle Hill (which reaches a height of 413 meters above sea level), where you can enjoy the incredible city panorama.
But it is impossible to fully enjoy Lviv. Having visited it at least once, you want to come back again.
