The Zmieva or Smorodynska cave is considered the oldest artificial dungeon in Kyiv. Some researchers believe that it is more than 4000 years old. According to folk legend, it was here that the terrible Serpent lived, which terrorized the population of Kyiv for a long time. Later, the monster was defeated in an unequal battle by the brave hero Kyrylo Kozhumyaka. Whether it is true or fiction, the memory of this battle remains in the names of the streets Bohatyrska and Kozhumyatska. But the main thing is that the Snake Cave itself has been preserved, and you have a chance to touch the living legend!
