Hungary extends temporary protection for Ukrainians: details

Hungary has extended the validity of residence permits for refugees from Ukraine. The asylum will be valid for another year - until March 4, 2024. Read the details of the decision of the Hungarian authorities below.
The country took this step following a similar decision by the EU, which also extended temporary protection for Ukrainians until March 2024.
How can Ukrainians extend their status?
Ukrainian refugees do not need to take any action. The validity of the plastic card was extended by law. Thus, the status is extended automatically.
The UN Refugee Agency in Hungary explained that if anyone asks about the validity of your residence permit, for example, your employer or any service providers (healthcare, education), please inform them about the extension and show them the law that guarantees that the plastic card is valid until March 4, 2024.
Attention! In the above case, reference should be made to Government Regulation 58/2023 of February 28, 2023, and section 5(3) of Government Regulation 86/2022 of March 7, 2022.
What financial assistance is still available to refugees?
If refugees from Ukraine have temporary protection status in Hungary (they have a plastic card), they can count on financial assistance. The amount of assistance is 22,800 forints per month (2,350 UAH) for an adult and 13,700 forints (1,412 UAH) per month for a child.

You can apply for this assistance at the employment service of the district state administration by presenting your plastic card.

The simultaneous stay of visitors in the hotel lobby not more than one person per 10 square meters of serviceable area is allowed.
Persons can visit hotels and stay there (outside hotel room) only if they wear respirator or face mask (including homemade mask), so that the nose and mouth are covered.
Hotel guests are obliged to keep the 1.5 meters distance.
Online check-in making in advance is recommended to avoid queues at check-in to hotel.
Meals in hotels are provided through meals delivery service to rooms upon prior order or at hotel restaurants situated inside or in open areas, provided the distance of at least 1.5 meters between seats at adjacent tables.
Not more than 4 clients are allowed to stay at the table (excluding children under 14 years old). Unless these tables are separated by a special partition;
