An insurance policy is a guarantee of your safety and peaceful stay outside of Ukraine

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Georgia has supported Ukraine and offered asylum to Ukrainians fleeing the war. According to the Embassy of Ukraine, there are currently about 30,000 refugees in Georgia. We have prepared a checklist of things that Ukrainians should know about.

What documents are required to enter Georgia?

Currently, there are simplified rules for crossing the border, so you will only need a passport (foreign or domestic) or other identification document. If you have children, it is recommended to have at least a birth certificate with you.

Attention! If you do not have any documents, take with you invalid or damaged copies or photos of documents.

Citizens of Ukraine can enter Georgia without a visa and stay in the country for 1 full year.

We recommend that you get advice from the Patrol Police Department in advance by calling +995 32 241 42 42.

Remember that the company Interpreters Unlimited will translate documents for refugees free of charge, and the "Public Forum in Support of Ukraine" provides remote translations in Georgian and Russian (details by phone +995 595 60 60 11).

In order to obtain refugee status or humanitarian status, you can write an application at the border or apply to any other state authority upon entering Georgia. However, the Department of Migration is the main body responsible for processing the asylum procedure.

Address: 16 MikheYila Gahokidze Street, Tbilisi, Georgia.
