Apartment rent and utilities

Not every local resident can buy an apartment in the Austrian capital. Therefore, foreigners who want to live in Vienna will first rent accommodation.

The cost of a one-room apartment in the city center is about €900, in the suburbs - from €650. Larger apartments, such as a three-room apartment, will cost between €1,100 and €1,400, depending on the area.

In addition to rent, you need to pay for utilities. In 2023, the approximate cost is as follows:

Prices for products in Austria

The cost of products in the country also meets the high standards of European life. Although food is more expensive than in Ukraine, it is cheaper to cook at home than to eat in cafes or restaurants. Average prices for basic products are as follows:

• Milk – 1.25 €

• Bread – 2 €

• Eggs (12 pcs.) – €3.50

• Chicken fillet – €11

Since Vienna is full of tourists, restaurants charge high prices. You can have lunch in an inexpensive cafe for €14, in a fast food restaurant for €8, and you can drink coffee for €3-4.

Prices for travel by public transport

Public transport is very developed in all major cities of Austria. Trams, subways and electric trains are especially popular.
