For how long has Cyprus extended temporary protection for refugees from Ukraine?
The right to temporary protection is automatically extended for one year, i.e. until March 4, 2024, for citizens of Ukraine who have already received such status in Cyprus.
Thus, Ukrainians who already enjoy temporary protection do NOT need to submit a new application to the Asylum Service or request a new residence permit with biometric data to the Civil Status and Migration Registration Department.
Pay attention! Those citizens of Ukraine who are going to acquire a temporary status in Cyprus for the first time will need to submit an application online or in person at the address of the central premises of the Asylum Service in Nicosia.
Let us remind you that Cyprus is one of the most attractive countries in Europe for expats, because the quality of life here is quite high for relatively moderate costs. According to statistics, every fifth resident of Cyprus is a foreigner. Learn more about the cost of housing rent, utilities and food on the island by following the link.
